“Eruption” by Shane Tennant

The inspiration for this piece was a volcanic ‘Eruption’ which subsequently creates and carries diamonds to the earths surface. The inner coloured bands have been created through chemically colouring custom cut pieces of Titanium. The outer red gold plates were created utilising both, patterning and chemical alteration techniques giving them a blackened raw, earthy feel.

Within the confines of the red gold plates depicting layers of the earths surface, Shane has set two rows of diamonds into the coloured titanium. An ability few in the world possess. Between these rows of diamonds are small cubic pieces of red gold emanating loose gravel. Tension set between the two plates of titanium is a 1.75ct rough natural Diamond.
